Lost in an ocean of guilt and boredom
Looking at the changing steadiness of man
So far away from the freedom of light
Floating in these cold grey waters
The mind collects itself
At times of silence
And beautifully progresses
During the fluctuating currents
Listening to my senses
Increasingly dull
Frigidity of feeling
Unmoving river of ice
Not too cold
Just too still
The tale of man begins in the sea
The shape of life swims throughout it
Its collective form grasps instinct
And later learns the logic of mind
As comes the separation of humankind
The river brings new energy
To the still waters
Of the life-bearing ocean
The ocean is still
Yet in it is the ever-moving
Essence of life
Looking from the raft
Of dry, tired planks
Seeing the green world
Beyond the shore
Feeling the lucid and live
Plants and trees from my raft
Looking away at animal
And human life and touching
Its warmth with rigid hands
